Back Home

I'm now back home.

Thursday I packed, ate supper with the team, and got on my first plane. Then, 36 hours of travel later, I arrived safely back to my family. God was very good in the seats and seatmates He gave me on the return flight. Yet again He gave me a flight with an empty seat next to me, then one with extra legroom and 2 very kind seatmates, and last I sat next to a gentleman, Dean, who grew up as a pastor's kid but has since rejected God.

It interesting being back in the states. I am certainly experiencing jet lag and reverse culture shock. Who knew that refrigerators were so big here and there's hot running water everywhere! People are in such a hurry and so tall! Little things here and there catch me off guard, sometimes in good ways and sometimes in bad ways...and I miss Thailand.

God gave me such a wonderful experience there. I praise Him for knowing when and where to send me, for the relationships He gave me, and the impact He has made in my life over the past 6 weeks. It will take me awhile to reflect on this experience and to be able to summarize it. Also, I don't know for sure what the future impact of my time in Thailand will have for others or for me, but I plan to leave that up to God. What I am certain of is that God has been very, very good to me.

Praise the Lord for...
  • Providing friends my age in Kylie, Asia, and P Gai
  • Allowing me to know P Gai and Kruu Auy and how to pray for them
  • The hospitality of the missionary family in not only letting me stay with them, but adding me as part of their team and families. I love each of the families dearly.
  • How God is using the missionaries there even while they are learning language and developing their team. Praise Him for the connections He is setting up at tennis, language school, KKVS, etc.
  • The time I had to see education and to learn more about other cultures.
  • Zoom, the child with the special needs I got to love.
God has been very good. Glory to God!
