Deep Down

I have seen a few things recently that made me deeply, fully happy. Time when my heart swelled with the goodness of God. Here's two of them.


I sat in chapel on Friday when the speaker prayed over the men he had just encouraged and exhorted. Then he called them forward. My heart swelled when I heard the strong tread of my brothers' footsteps mobbing the floor below and answering God's call. How could there be so many? I opened my eyes and suddenly had to blink hard though unsuccessfully to stop tears. I was overwhelmed by the show of power and courage of the men of Grace College kneeling, arms thrown over each others shoulders, as a solid unit. Imagine the picture below, except overflowing with men: at the front by the stage, down the center aisle, and flooding aisles to the left and right. I grinned through tears at God's goodness. He is raising up men.



I saw the beauty of nature through Terje Sorgjerd's pictures on FB. I sat and stared for minutes on end at the ways he had captured the beauty of this world in 50 pictures. These pictures fed my soul and told me of God's glory. Look what He has made, and praise the Lord!
