Talking with my boss today, I realized that I am now 2 months and 2 days away from leaving for Thailand. Crazy, huh? I am so excited about this opportunity to live in another country, to speak another language, and to see another side of life, another culture. I am talking with the families I will be staying with there...the Weimers, the Offuts, and the Nesbitts...about exactly how I'll be spending my time there. So far I know that I'll get to learn some language, teach at a secular bilingual school, and work with college students. These opportunities are unbelievably exciting!
Still, I'm scared. Yeah, I haven't been outside the US before (unless you count Niagra Falls?), I've never been somewhere where I was the minority and Buddhism was the foundation of the culture. But growth rarely happens while I'm inside my comfort zone...so I guess this is a chance to grow...A LOT!
So, please be praying with me that God will prepare my heart and supply my needs! To Thailand!
